i have always been addicted to Wikipedia, and i can open lots of Wikipedia tabs at a time and reading them without blinking. in another post will i tell you about what i have been reading in Wikipedia this season, and trust me, addiction to Wikipedia is even worse than my addiction to myspace and blogging.
now i have indulged in another all time favourite addiction of mine, that is youtube. so if my connection's speed of a tortoise allows me, i will at least post a youtube video daily that is worthwhile to occupy your time with! (read:harry potter geek alert)
oh and since New Moon is rising so fast, and everybody is like OMG OMG NEW MOON RAAWKKKSSS MANNN OMG OMG, so i've tried to reread New Moon again, as i'm watching it soon in the cinema. but but but but BUT. i just. . . .
COULDNT. everytime i try to start each page, i was like, blahhhh i knew what was coming blahhhhhh. so i just stopped rereading.
but it never happened with Harry Potter though. i've reread Harry Potter for like more than 4 times EACH book, and i never felt the slightest boredom or symptoms like blahhblahhh i already remember the lines blablaaaaahhh. like i did with Twilight. seriously, with Harry Potter, its just different.
Twilight got me like every new toy will got a lil kiddie, but there is always one that they will take to bath everyday.
hoh, so for your entertainment this is an article from here trashing Twilight :D the white coloured font is the article and the red coloured are my comments, enjoyyy.
Twilight just doesn’t do it for me.
There, I said it.
The trials and tribulations of Edward “100-Year-Old Man With Control Issues” Cullen, Bella “Everyone Loves My Empty Head” Swan, and their Vampire “Poorly-Executed Sexual Abstinence Metaphor” Relationship don’t hold a candle to contemporary literature’s other otherworldly, ultra-famous saga of fantastical fiction…the Harry Potter series. I know I’ll have to bring some of you Twilight loyalists into the fold. please consider the following list of Reasons Why Harry Potter Is Superior (or at Least Equal in Merit) to Twilight:
Awesome female characters. The girls of Harry Potter are smart, athletic, resourceful, and interesting to read about/watch on the big screen. Bella Swan, by comparison, has all the mystery and intellect of a Dixie cup. SO TRUE! SHE REALLY DRIVES ME OFF MY SANITY!
A lovely lexicon. Dumbledore! Muggles! Expecto Patronum! J.K. Rowling invented a dictionary’s-worth of words, names and places to flesh out the Potter series’ rich mythology. Wouldn’t you rather visit Number Twleve Grimmauld Place than… Forks? OH DAMN YES. FYI to you OMGOMG folks out there, the elements of the Twilight Saga are taken from the traditional and classic vampire stories, where vampires have special abilities, etc. just watch Interview With The Vampire, its a movie with BOTH Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in it, so much better than Rob Pattie alone. on the other hand, JK ROWLING is like, creating a whole new world in Harry Potter. everything is beyond your imagination and prediction. AND YES, there are actually new words from HP that are registered as official words in dictionary, like muggles!
English accents. Do you like English accents? Me too! And the Harry Potter cast all have English accents. Yaaaaay! English accents is undeniably sexyyy!
Sexual tension. Everybody loves the lusty anxieties of Edward and Bella’s relationship, where he OMG wants her so BAD, but he has to be careful because OMG he could KILL HER. Well, Hermoine and Ron have hormones too, you guys. Think about that. and if you read from book 1 to book 7 of Harry Potter, the love-hate relationship between Ron and Hermione is so extraordinary. ambek kau, extraordinary trus tu. Cute to see how they develop it :D
All-around better books. Twilight’s vampire romance might set your heart (or your pants) on fire, but when it comes to literary merit, Harry Potter and the [Noun] and the [Other Noun] is the clear winner. Meatier plotlines, intricate mythology, well-drawn characters and complex relationships make the series a true heavyweight for discerning readers. YES YES. SOMETHING ALL ROUNDED. family friends sacrifices love flirting teaching respecting death and so much more. nothing is left. oh and Harry Potter has been a literature study in some classes in the west! i am sure i will get the best mark if only PMR is based on Harry Potter!
Robert Pattinson. Yeah, yeah, we know that he’s headlining the Twilight movies. But in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, you can see Robert Pattinson a) not covered in sparkle makeup, b) not creeping into people’s bedrooms to watch them sleep, and c) not playing a squirrel-murdering, mind-reading, 100 year-old man. HARRY POTTER R-PATZ FTW! haha!
ergh poor future generation who dont get to read or watch Harry Potter when the buzz is everywhere, like how im growing up with Harry Potter, and how i was waiting for Harry Potter's latest book and surprise to be released. but i think its more pathetic of present generation to let the phenomena pass without them being a part of it. at least i know i am :)
